I began my studies at Carnegie Mellon University in the fall of 2000 as a Mechanical Engineer. During the first few years, I decided to use my multimedia background for school related presentations, labs and the like and quickly found that it provided an edge, as there hadn't been any quality of digital imaging remotely close in the department before. At one point, I lent my design services to the stress analysis department, creating flash animations for homework problems that the teacher would provide to his students in class. This marked the first time I used my multimedia skills to actually work for the university.

While this provided some stimulation for my hobby for school studies, I eventually realized that if I wanted to further explore my passions in a classroom environment, I would have to look elsewhere, which in turn led me to begin my minor studies in film and digital imaging well into my junior year. Many of the classes I took related to the minor were Pittsburgh Filmmakers film production and editing class, as well as a number of music technology classes, which were quite fitting due to the amount of independent DVD work I was currently doing for the School of Music.

As graduation passed, I moved back home to setup my own personal studio with plans to further grow a client base for 21 Productions, although the School of Music was the main part of Carnegie Mellon that I kept in touch with on a regular basis. With reoccuring DVD and other video related projects, I explored the option of installing a second server to faciliate transfers from here in New York, and as a result, a webcasting project was started which has since become the Multimedia Streaming Engine.

With the success of automated live webcasting of all performances for the School of Music, I was given the opportunity to work as their Systems Administrator, and since then, have become webmaster of the both the School of Music and College of Fine Arts. The School of Music, the College of Fine Arts Lab A6 Project and, most recently, the School of Art Lecture Series currently use the Multimedia Streaming Engine.

The brand new Carnegie Mellon School of Music website has just been unveiled as well, so do make sure to check it out at the link below!
